Yes! Before your ring goes into production, you'll receive detailed images and a rotating video of the computer-designed model so you can examine it from every angle. You can review everything by text or email, or visit our Albuquerque showroom and request changes before approving the design. If it's difficult to judge the ring's size on a screen, John Thomas Jewelers can also create a full-size resin model that you can see and try on first.

Most custom engagement rings can be completed in about two to three weeks once your design is finalized. Within a few days of leaving your deposit, you'll typically receive the computer-designed model to review and approve. If you request revisions or want to visit the showroom to try on a resin model, the timeline may extend slightly. Because the entire ring is created in-house, it doesn't lose time being shipped between outside designers, manufacturers, and jewelers.

Yes. During custom design and production, your diamond and ring remain at our Albuquerque shop instead of being shipped to an outside workshop. The team handles the design, 3D model, casting, polishing, stone setting, sizing, and engraving under one roof. You can even watch Matthew, our custom designer, as he creates your piece in our working jewelry lab (but please don't tap on the glass - it upsets the animals!) Keeping everything in-house means fewer handoffs, clearer communication, and greater peace of mind, especially when you're using a family diamond or another irreplaceable stone.
